PM's Message On Dams Fund
Prime Minister Imran Khan has appealed the countrymen and oversea Pakistanis for donations to the Dams Fund set up by the Supreme Court.
Speaking to the Nation in a brief Televised Address, the Prime Minister emphasized that there is no question Pakistan is faced with several significant problems but the biggest problem currently faced is the water crisis.
Warning of the rapid depletion in Pakistan's water resources, the Premier said he has decided to create joint PM-Chief Justice Fund for Diamer Basha Dam.
He commended Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar for initiating the Dams Fund adding that this was not his job but of the Civilian Leaders who knew this was going to swell into a crisis but did nothing to thwart it.
The Prime Minister appealed the overseas Pakistanis to contribute in the Dams Fund like they used to do for the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital.
He assured People of Pakistan to safeguard their donations against any misuse.
The Prime Minister added that if every overseas Pakistani donates one thousand U.S. Dollars Pakistan will have enough Fund to build the Dams without any International Aid.
