COAS Visit To China Chinese Premier Meets COAS Rahil Sharif

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang held meeting with visiting Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Gen. Raheel Sharif in Beijing, hoping to enhance high-level exchanges and expand cooperation in various fields.

Premier Li said that China and Pakistan have a long-term political trust and firm brotherhood and the close military exchanges between the two countries have provided a strong guarantee for their cooperation, especially in the field of economy.

The year 2016 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The Chinese prime minister said, his country hopes to enhance high-level exchanges, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, keep close communication on international and regional issues with Pakistan so as to maintain regional peace and promote mutual prosperity.

Li said that the construction of the Sino-Pakistani economic corridor is a flagship project for the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries and will contribute to regional development and prosperity.

China appreciates the efforts taken by the Pakistani government and military to boost the construction of the economic corridor, and believes that through joint efforts, the two countries will give full play to their traditional friendship, geopolitical contiguity and economic complementarily, share opportunities, jointly meet challenges and seek common development, and better benefit their people.

General Rahil Sharif said the friendly cooperation between the two armies embodies fully the deep friendship between the two countries.
He said, Pakistani military cherishes the friendship and hope that the economic corridor can complete soon. The Pakistani military is also willing to create a safe environment for bilateral cooperation and provide security guarantee to the corridor.

General Rahil Sharif said, the Pakistani side is willing to further enhance cooperation between the two governments and between the armies in various fields to safeguard regional peace and further promote Pakistan-china relations.
