Tokyo Stocks Claw Back Early Loses To End Morning Up.

Tokyo stocks cast off early losses to end the morning session higher today, as a weaker yen lifted exporters as investors focused on Japan's plans for a sales tax hike.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.49 percent to 17,151.95 points by the break.

The TOPIX index of all first-section shares climbed 0.50 percent to 1,372.87 points.
