Avenfield, Al Azizia References : IHC Defers Decision To Declare Nwaz Sharif Absconder
The Islamabad High Court has deferred decision to declare Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif an absconder until December 2.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard appeals filed by the Former Premier against his conviction in Al Azizia and Avenfield References.
The bench summoned two officers of FIA Lahore Ejaz Ahmad and Tariq Masood along with Director Europe at the Foreign Office Mubashir Khan and other concerned officials to record their statement on next hearing.
The bench expressed satisfaction over the efforts, being made so far for personal appearance of Nawaz Sharif in the Court. However, the bench said it wants to satisfy itself that all possible efforts have been made to inform the Former Premier About the Court's order.
In October, the Bench had issued proclamation against the Former Prime Minister in leading Newspapers asking him to surrender himself in 30 days to avoid further adverse process.
The Bench also heard appeals filed by the National Accountability Bureau against the NAB Court decision to acquit Nawaz in Flagship Reference.
