Decision To Close Educational Institutes Approved : Asad

National Coordination Committee on Covid-19 banned all indoor gatherings in Restaurants and the decision will not be applicable to food stalls.

Briefing the Newsmen after meeting of National Coordination Committee on Covid-19 in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said the N.C.C. ratified the decisions of N.C.O.C. regarding the closure of Educational institutions.

He said, the Schools are expected to reopen on 11th of January next year after reviewing the Corona Situation.

The Minister said, the ban on large public gatherings has also been endorsed by Islamabad High Court adding that there is no ban on political activities but Political Leaders should create awareness about pandemic.

He stated that Pakistan has witnessed surge in Covid cases in last three weeks and the situation can exacerbate in the next two weeks if SOPS are not followed.

Speaking on the occasion, PM'S Special Assistant on Health Dr Faisal Sultan said, the death rate has increased to 7.5 percent and government providing Oxygen beds and Ventilators in Hospitals.

Faisal Sultan urged people to wear face masks and follow SOPS.
