SBP Rescue Businesses

The State Bank of Pakistan under its refinancing scheme for protecting businesses from the impact of covid-19, has so far deferred 657.14 billion rupees principal repayments of loans up to one year.

According to the updated data of the central bank, loans around 235.8 billion rupees have been rescheduled so far.

The number of borrowers that would benefit from this rescheduling relief has risen to approximately 1.76 million, with outstanding amount of Rs 2.54 billion.

Under the Rozgar Scheme of central bank, to protect businesses their employees from the impact of COVID-19, the central bank has so far approved 238.2 billion rupees for 2,958 businesses.

Meanwhile, the bank under this refinancing scheme for hospitals to combat COVID-19, approved financing of 10.073 billion rupees for 43 hospitals so far.
