Miami Open Final : Hurkacz Sinks Sinner, 1st Pole To Win Masters 1000 Title

Hubert Hurkacz continued to make himself at home in Florida by defeating Jannik Sinner in final to win the Miami Open Tennis Tournament.

24 years old Hurkacz became Poland's first ATP Masters 1000 Champion with a 7-6 and 6-4 victory over the 19-year-old Italian. Hurkacz dispatched sinner in one hour and 43 minutes for his second tournament victory of the year and third ATP tour title overall. Hurkacz, who also won the Delray Beach open in January, is 10-0 in South Florida in 2021.

Hurkacz recorded three aces and benefited from five double faults by Sinner, his occasional doubles partner. Hurkacz jumped out to a fast start by winning the first three games of the first set before sinner rallied to force a tiebreak.

The second set followed a similar script, with Hurkacz winning the first four games. Sinner again rallied before Hurkacz shut the door to secure the title.
