Naveed Alam Passes Away : Former Hockey Star Died After Battle With Cancer

Former Hockey Olympian and member of the winning team of the 1994 World Cup Naveed Alam passed away.

He was 47.

Alam had been diagnosed with blood cancer earlier this month.

Alam underwent Chemotherapy in Lahore yesterday, after which his condition deteriorated. He was immediately moved to a Hospital where he passed away.

Alam had also served as Pakistan’s Hockey Team Manager at the Beijing Olympic games in 2008.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation had also appointed Alam as Director Development and Domestic in 2016.

The funeral prayers will be offered tonight at 10 Pm at Company Bagh Sheikhupura.
