W.H.O. Issues Fresh Warning On Covid-19 : Delta Variant To Dominate World In Next Few Months

The Delta Variant of Covid-19 is expected to dominate the global pandemic in the next few months.

A report released by the World Health organization showed that the global initiative on sharing all influenza data had received 248,133 Covid-19 sequences, of which about 9 percent had been identified as the highly contagious delta variant.

In the past four weeks, more than 75 percent of samples submitted by many countries around the world were confirmed delta strains.

In terms of the Pandemic Data, the weekly report showed that the number of new deaths Worldwide rose slightly to nearly 57,000 in the week ending at July 18, after two months of decline.

Over the past week, the number of new confirmed cases worldwide stood at 3.4 million, up 12 percent from the previous week.

The WHO estimates that the cumulative number of confirmed cases will exceed 200 million within the next three weeks at the current rate.
