Mallorca Open Tennis : Kyrgios Advances In Mallorca, Giron Outs Van De Zandshulp

Marcos Giron powered through to oust number six seed Botic Van de Zandshulp from the Mallorca Open Tennis tournament.

Giron was on the losing side of the first set tiebreak, but came back to win the second set 6-4 to set up the third set which also went to a tiebreak.

The American left nothing to chance in the deciding tiebreak and raced to seal a win over the dutchman.

Giron will face Compatriot Mackenzie Mcdonald in round two.

Similarly, Nick Kyrgios overcome laslo Djere to pull out a win to advance to the second round.

The Australian will face number five seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the second round.

Germany’s Daniel Altmaier sent Dusan Lajovic packing in straight sets with a win. The German will next face number eight seed Sebastian Baez of Argentina.
