Daniil Medvedev gave world number one Novak Djokovic his first defeat of the season with a straight sets victory 6-4 6-4.

The three-seed is now one win away from securing a third consecutive tour title.

In an all-Russian final, Medvedev will face a tough test against Andrey Rublev who sits one spot ahead of the world number 7 in the ATP rankings.

For his part, Rublev, the ATP 500 event's second seed, overcame Alexander Zverev of Germany in the other semi-final 6-4 7-6(9).
