Afghan Soil Used In Besham Attack : Interior Minister Demands Kabul To Arrest TTP Leadership

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said, banned militant outfit Tehreek E Taliban used Afghan soil to carry out a planned attack on Chinese convoy in Bisham that killed five Chinese and one Pakistani national in march this year.

Addressing a joint news conferecne alongwith investigators in Lahore, the interior minister stated that the law enforcement agencies with the help of evidence arrested the terrorists.

Interior Minsiter Naqvi demanded of Afghan Interim Government to immediately arrest banned Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan leadership hiding in Afghanistan.

He stated that Pakistan wants to have cordial ties with Kabul but it cannot tolerate acts of terrorism being carried out inside Pakistan by using afghan soil.

Emphasizing that the government is committed to the security of Chinese nationals, the Interior Minster said, the security plan of Chinese nationals have been revised and strictly being implemented.

To a question, the interior minister said Pakistan raised the issue with Afghan Interim government and also beefed up security at its borders.

Sharing the investigation details, national coordinator NACTA, Rai Tahir, said the vehicle used in attack was smuggled from Afghanistan adding that the investigators also found a cell phone from the attack site that helped in furthering the investigation.
