Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is trying to develop and promote the Telecommunication Sector in the country and steps are being taken to provide faster mobile internet in remote areas of the country.

The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Veon Group for participating in the Digital National Summit who called on him in Islamabad.

Shehbaz Sharif said Veon and Jazz Group has played a positive role in Pakistan’s economy.

He appreciated the role of Veon and Jazz Group in increasing the Telecommunication Sector and connectivity in Pakistan.

The delegation also expressed interest in Digital Pakistan Initiative.

The delegation appreciated prime minister's vision to make the Pakistani economy cashless and digitized.

Minister Of State For Information Technology And Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja and relevant senior government officials participated in the meeting.
