The National Ulema Mashaikh conference is being held at the Pakistan China friendship center in Islamabad today to be attended by scholars of all schools of thought from across the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be the chief guest at the conference while the chief of army staff will be the guest of honour on the occasion.

The prime minister and chief of the army staff will also address the conference.

Speaking at the Conference, the Minister for religious affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain said Muslims must forge unity among their ranks by following the teachings of Holy Quran.

He urged religious scholars to play their role in eradicating extremism in the society.
