Defense Minister Khawaja Asif says he has decided to step down as member of Special Committee of the National Assembly, regretting that the committee aimed to restore constitutional restoration of this house and not to promote party-centric narratives as happened in its first meeting.

Addressing the National Assembly, he called for restoration of parliamentary dignity and urging everyone to work together to strengthen the institution.

He urged PTI to acknowledge and apologize for past mistakes, including the passage of 52 Bills in the Assembly within 20 minutes during their tenure. Asif concluded by advocating for PTI to make amends for past errors to facilitate a fresh start.
