'Kids Aren't Terrorists': UN Commission Decries Child Deaths In Gaza Amid Israeli Strikes
The Independent International Commission Of Inquiry On The Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem and Israel, condemned the number of child deaths in Gaza amid Israeli strikes in the Palestinian enclave.
Navi Pillay and Chris Sidoti, were speaking at a U.N. Noon Briefing.
Sidoti noted that 38 Israeli children were killed on October 7, 2023, and at least 13,319 Palestinian children have since died in Israeli attacks.
He said kids are not terrorists,” and warned that the conflict risks turning the occupied territories into a "terrorism creation factory" over the coming decades.
Pillay urged global leaders to change their approach to both states, insisting on a distinction between occupier and occupied.
