SIFC’s Initiative Has Improved Pakistan’s Agricultural Landscape

Due to SIFC’s Green Corporate Initiative, the country’s agriculture is heading towards development.

Agriculture is the main pillar of Pakistan’s economy, with agricultural production contributing around 70 per cent to the country’s GDP.

The green corporate initiative efforts under the SIFC has significantly improved the agricultural landscape.

The GCI-supported shift from traditional agriculture to corporate-style agriculture is a major initiative for the sector.

A total of 150,000 acres of land has been irrigated for agricultural production through Punjab’s Modern Irrigation System.

The successful Strategy Of Green Corporate Initiative has led to an increase in production by providing quality fertilizers and seeds to farmers.

Agriculture accounts for more than 50 per cent of Pakistan’s total exports, which will be further increased through initiatives like GCI.

Green revolution has been initiated through the joint efforts of the Punjab Government and GCI and effective measures have been taken for restoration of forests.

As a result, there has been an increase in global demand for Pakistani agricultural products, with susbstantial increase in exports of wheat, cotton and sesame seeds.
