Israeli Forces Kill 7 As Flooding Worsens Crisis Amid Aid Blockades

Israel's bombardment of Gaza continues, killing seven more as flooding worsens crisis for displaced families amid aid blockades.

According to local media at least one person killed in Northern Jabalia and six others killed in nearby Beit Lahiya.

Days of heavy rain flood hundreds of makeshift shelters across the strip, piling more misery on displaced Palestinian families struggling to keep their children warm as Israel continues to restrict the entry of humanitarian aid.

The UN’s humanitarian agency (OCHA) says Israeli authorities allowed in just 160 trucks carrying shelter items into Gaza between December 1 and 26.

These comprise 136 trucks that reached northern Gaza and just 24 that entered the central and southern regions.

The agency described the amount as “a trickle” as Israel’s war has displaced more than 90 percent of Gaza’s 2 million people, with most of them sheltering in makeshift tents that do not offer enough protection from the plummeting temperatures.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 45,541 Palestinians and wounded 108,338 since October 7, 2023.
